There is some distinction between space and place. In a world where entitities simply compete against each other, with no concern for each other and no lasting interest, the arena they inhabit can only be a space — an empty space, with nothing there. Place, on the other hand, assumes a that there’s a there there — a something, a noun, a shared arena, something to go to, something to inhabit. A place implies an index.

The question then for our society is whether it wants to be a space or a place.

The real issue is why are business people so in love with retarded jargon? Is it because they themselves are retarded buzz-addicts, always looking for that Next Big Thing, which turns out to be pretty empty and stupid?
